1.General Theory | |
◎ Never apply more force than the shackle's assigned Safe Working Load(SWL/WLL) rating. ◎ Shackles are used in lifting and static systems as removable links to connect wire rope, chain and other fittings. ◎ Screw pin type shackles are mainly used for non-permanent applications. ◎ Bolt type shackles are preferably used for long term or permanent applications and in circumstances where the pin of the shackle may rotate during loading. ◎ Chain shackles are mainly on one-leg systems and Anchor shackles on multi-leg systems. |
2.Before Using | |

3.Using | |
◎ Never make a wrong application of the rule. (Overloading & Improper use can result in injury.) ◎ Over the 20㎏ weight products' using, must be use an appliance tool. (Forklift, crane, hoist, etc.) ◎ Where apply, must locate outside the danger zones. (A falling load may cause serious injury or death.) ◎ Never repair, alter, rework, or reshape a shackle by welding, heating, burning, bending or grinding. ◎ Side-loads should be avoided as the products are not designed for this purpose.(See Figure 1, Table 1) |
4.After Using | |
◎ Should extreme circumstances or shock loading be applicable, this must be well taken into account on selecting the product to be used. |
